Devil daggers hrtf not working11/30/2023 ![]() Same with the press when was the last time you heard somebody praise the virtual surround output of a game that features it? Most reviewers seem to only concentrate on the quality of the sound samples used but not even if there are any effects realistically applied to them. Nobody really seem to be much interested in that line of tech and also from a consumer view its sad that sound cards basically started to became an extreme niche as soon as most mainboards started to not have audible distortion or noise coming out of their audio outputs. Its not like Creative killed other standards by making exclusivity deals or something. While I understand your criticism of EAX its worth pointing out that there never was a real competition to it after the death of Aureal. There was no reason why others couldn't use the same tech in their cards or for developers to integrate the same into their games, which of course both happened but never at that level of quality (and very seldom in games directly). Unlike EAX (which was used to modify sounds based on the environment they were audible in) the HRFT tech labeled CMSS:3D didn't needed any special support by the game developers other than either using DirectSound3D, OpenAL or creating a 5.1 output in software. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creeschĪnd I blame Creative Labs, they've been a market leader all this time and all they've done is cockblocking the progress with their proprietary tech.Ĭreative released a wide range of X-Fi branded sound cards back in 2005 that use the HRFT tech with a higher level of positional audio than the Aureal cards had./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors. ![]() Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
